Competition format
The competition uses a new, more relaxed format. Instead of separate individual performances, competitors take turns in groups during a shared session.
For qualifying, competitors are divided into small groups of approximately 4-5 people. Each group has its own slot, during which competitors have several attempts to show their best tricks and combinations. The judges watch the performances and select the best individual from each group directly for the final. Wildcard places are also awarded to outstanding competitors in strong groups.
The finalists form a new group and compete in the same format as qualifying. At the end of the competition, the judges reward the day’s best performers!
Judging criteria:
The judges assess competitors’ overall performances during the qualifying and final sessions. Each competitor has time for several different combinations during their group slot. Judging focuses on three main areas:
- Difficulty
- The difficulty of a trick is determined by its total number of somersaults and twists
- Execution
- Judges assess technical execution, control and the overall quality of movement.
- They also consider jump control, somersault axes, clean landings, flow and safety
- Creativity and variety
- Judging considers variety, originality and technical variation in combinations, including different somersault directions, landings and twists
- The judges also value courage, pushing your own limits and a supportive attitude, with particular emphasis on these qualities when awarding wildcard places!
- A spotter with a landing mat is provided at the competition
- The running order is drawn at random
- Competition performances are filmed, and material recorded at the event may be used in Reenis marketing and advertising
